Large block mosque

Large block mosque is located in the old part of Bukhara, near ancient Ark fortress. It is the cathedral or is jami-masjid.

The building includes winter and summer part. The first has four columns hall with several entrances. The second is built as aivan, terraces are encircling the building on three sides.

Wooden columns carved in the form of stalactites. They firmly support ceiling of aivan. The columns in one of on front sides of terrace are different from the rest. Their slim line serve as the main entrance into the first avian, and then into the building.

Internal part of the building was decorated in traditions of the 19th and early 20th century.

Currently, Large block mosque is significant architectural monument and included to the UNESCO Heritage List.
